Muskogee , OK - Race
Brother's Farm and Home Supply Show Me Racing Series Found Ken Essary of
Cape Fair, MO Found victory lane at the historic half mile of the
resurrected Thunderbird Speedway in Muskogee, OK. Essary led all 25 laps
from his pole starting position to pick up his third series win of the
year and his sixteenth career series win.
Shane Essary of Aurora, MO started fifth and stayed in the top five for
the first half of the race before making his move to the top three on
lap nineteen. Dustin Mooneyham, also of Auoroa, MO started sixth and
quickly moved up into the top three early in the race and would finish
third. Chris Morelock from Springfield, MO had one of his best runs of
the year as he finished second in his heat and after the top eight
re-draw found himself starting the feature inside row tow. Morelock lost
a few positions early as he raced much of the race in the top five.
Morelock would finish fouth. Rounding out the top five was Scott Fry of
Exeter, MO. Fry was one of the night's biggest movers as he started
twelth and by lap twenty had put himself in position to end the night
with a top five finish.
Show Me Racing Series point leader Justin Well of Aurora, MO started
fourth in the feature but and uncharacteristic spin in turns three and
four on lap 3 would bring out the caution and Wells would be forced to
restart at the back of the field. Wells would recover to finish sixth.
39 year racing veteran of Verona, MO also had a good run going as he was
running second to Ken Essary on the white flag lap, but the motor would
let go and he would finish eleventh.
