The dawning of a new motorsports manufacturing entity debuted on Wednesday, March 1, as Genesis Racing Shocks. Genesis is a new shock absorber manufacturing company with its manufacturing and corporate headquarters based in Roswell, GA. This new venture was founded by it principals Mike Farr and Mike Lutz; two long-time industry magnets with decades of combined experience in shock design, engineering and manufacturing.

“Five days after entering the market, Genesis was added as the latest marketing partner of the MACS Series”, stated Andy Geesey, Series President. “Mike Farr has always been supportive of the series and its efforts and we welcome him, along with Mike Lutz and Genesis Shocks into the MACS fold” concluded Geesey.

Genesis Racing Shocks is committed to offering key innovations and designs in shocks used for competition in both dirt and asphalt racing. Genesis offers a variety of shocks including non-adjustable and double adjustable mono-tube gas shocks, with and without a reservoir, triple adjustable shocks as well as a litany of others. A key ingredient to the Genesis’ marketing plan is superior service with personnel at the race tracks servicing their products as well as sharing all available technology information and data.

”We are pleased to announce that Genesis is providing five $200 Gift Certificates to the fast qualifiers for Portsmouth Raceway Park (OH) July 2; Virginia Motor Speedway (VA), August 19; Portsmouth (OH) September 3; Hagerstown (MD) Hub-City 150, September 22-23; Challenger Raceway (PA) Fall Fest, October 14-15”, commented Jeff Geesey, Series PR director. “Additionally, they (Genesis) will be providing the 2006 MACS champion with a complete set of shocks valued at $2,600”, concluded Geesey.

Farr and Lutz are certainly not strangers to the shock absorber business. Their combined experience spans over five decades. “I’m excited to be back in the shock and suspension business, although I never really got out of it,” stated Mike Farr. “Racers still called me for advice even though I wasn't working for a shock company the past couple years”. Farr continued, “Our immediate goal is to make a high quality product that race teams are confident with and can afford. Hand-in-hand with that goal is to provide support and service to the teams creating winning combinations just like I always have.”

Farr, a former racer himself, has spent 21 years working in the racing shock business including stints with both Carrera and Pro Shocks. Over the years, Farr’s loyal customers have won some of the sports biggest, and most prestigious events including the World 100, Dirt Track World Championship, and too many others to name. His expertise in shock design and development provides a substantial, positive impact to Genesis’ customers.

Lutz, the other half of this entrepreneurial pair cited, “We are going to design and build shock absorbers that drivers can use with confidence without guessing or having to dyno everything to confirm the manufacturer’s specs. We feel like we can satisfy their needs with easy to understand and usable products that are do able on a budget. Our mission is to provide quality products that work for every customer. As far as we’re concerned, quality and consistency comes in first”, concluded Lutz.

Lutz’s successful career in the shock absorber business began with Monroe Shocks and eventually migrated to a long stint with Carrera. He has contributed innovations in the design and construction of racing shocks that have appeared in nearly all of the major racing events on both dirt and asphalt. Lutz’ expertise as an industry leader in engineering innovations brings a wealth of value to Genesis.

Additionally, Genesis has taken on an international flavor as they have contracted with Berthold Usinage, Inc., of Montreal, Canada for specialized machine work to aid in the developmental process of new and innovative product lines.
